I’m still behind on watching the 2nd season, but I’m looking forward to the return of Bored to Death.
It always makes me feel like I’m back in Brooklyn.

Title: It’s Kind of a Funny Story
Written and Directed by: Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck
Current Flickchart position: #191 of 1351 overall. My #7 film, of 62, from the year 2010.
What It’s About:
A clinically depressed teenager gets a new start after he checks himself into an adult psychiatric ward.
General Comments:
Oh my God this film was so damn enjoyable. I had no idea that Zach Galifianakis was as good a dramatic actor as he is in this. Keir Gilchrist, a guy I’ve never seen in anything before, was very impressive too. Just simply a great indie coming of age drama.
Watch It’s Kind of a Funny Story because it’s fucking fantastic.
Rating: 8/10

Title: Due Date
Directed by: Todd Phillips
Written by: Alan R. Cohen & Alan Freedland and Adam Sztykiel & Todd Phillips
Current Flickchart position: #312 of 1346 overall. My #25 film, of 58, from the year 2010.
What It’s About:
High-strung father-to-be Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr) is forced to hitch a ride with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) on a road trip in order to make it to his child’s birth on time.
General Comments:
As a general rule I hate remakes. They’re pointless and lazy exercises by studios too afraid and too unimaginative to come up with something original. Due Date may not be a remake in name but it’s certainly a remake in spirit, and it’s a remake of Planes, Trains and Automobiles for this generation. It pretty good and pretty funny, and is elevated to above average standards because of the likability of Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis, and some nice cameos from Juliette Lewis and Danny McBride.
Watch Due Date to see an updated but kinda soulless remake of Planes, Trains and Automobiles starring the always brilliant Zach Galifianakis.
Rating: 7/10
It looks as awesome as I hoped it would and I only have to wait til November. Zach Galifianakis should be in everything.
I’ve been looking forward to Dinner For Schmucks for a long time now. The whole premise sounds hilarious and when you add in Paul Rudd and Steve Carell it instantly becomes a must-see flick for me. On top of these two the film also features Zach Galifianakis, Jemaine Clement, Lucy Punch and Ron Livingston. Impressive.
The trailer just arrived and it does nothing to make me think this isn’t gonna be one of the better comedies of the year.
Check out the trailer below and look for the film when it opens July 23rd.
