Here we go again, the teaser for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Jul 21 2011 Published by under Film

I really really really don’t want to watch another origin story, especially considering that the first Spider-Man film only came out in 2002.

That being said, I am a fan of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, so this reboot does have something going for it.  Plus it’s never really a bad thing when you can get a new Spider-Man film.

Here’s the non-bootleg teaser for The Amazing Spider-Man.  Due for release on July 3rd 2012 in spectacular 3D.

Studio Ghibli adapting THE BORROWERS

Jun 11 2010 Published by under Film

I’m pretty damn late finding this out, but Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle) are adapting Mary Norton’s The Borrowers, titled The Borrower Arrietty.  The film is due for release on July 17th in Japan.

From wikipedia, The Borrowers is a series of children’s fantasy novels about tiny people who live in the homes of big people and “borrow” things to survive while keeping their existence unknown.  The central characters of the novels are a borrower family surnamed Clock: Pod, Homily and their spirited teenage daughter, Arrietty.  The first novel of the series, The Borrowers, was published in 1952 and won the Carnegie Medal for that year.  In 2007, it was selected by judges of the CILIP Carnegie Medal for children’s literature as one of the ten most important children’s novels of the past 70 years.

Check out the two Japanese teasers below.

You can’t help but anticipate SUPER 8

May 09 2010 Published by under Film

J.J. Abrams sure knows how to tease a film doesn’t he.  If the marketing campaign for Cloverfield wasn’t enough to show that Abrams is pretty damn adept at building interest in his projects, I’m confident the teaser for his Super 8 will.

The teaser was attached to Iron Man 2 in the US but a bootleg version showed up on Youtube ahead of time.

The KICK-ASS teaser is pretty kick ass

Nov 12 2009 Published by under Film

I’ve only read the first three issues of Kick-Ass but when I heard a while back that they were doing a movie I had a real hard time believing that it would be as brutal and violent as the comic.  I still don’t know if it will be but the teaser fills me with anticipation for the flick.  Especially the adorable Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl.

It’s such a shame I have to wait until April.

Teaser trailer for PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF

Jul 15 2009 Published by under Film

Here’s the teaser trailer for the upcoming adaptation of the first Percy Jackson novel.

I tried reading the book and gave up a couple of chapters into it.  It’s certainly a children’s book, but unlike the Harry Potter series of novels I really don’t think it’s written to be read by adults.  The writing style just screams children’s book.

That being said I’m a little curious to see the film because I generally enjoy the work of Chris Columbus.

Teaser poster for DEXTER season 4

Jun 25 2009 Published by under TV

Check out the teaser poster for Dexter’s upcoming fourth season.

I simply loved the first season but for whatever reason I abandoned the show only one episode into the second season.  There’s no real reason why I did it, so I should probably watch the rest of season 2 and all of season 3.  I get annoyed with myself for not keeping up with shows I know I enjoy.  Weeds is another one which I suddenly stopped watching for no reason after the third season.  And don’t kill me, but I haven’t even seen the first season of The Wire yet.

Teaser for Michael Moore’s next

Jun 13 2009 Published by under Film

Love him or hate him, everyone has an opinion on Michael Moore.  I really enjoy his ultra-leftist approach to politics, sometimes because I agree with him and sometimes simply for comedic value.

Here’s the teaser for Moore’s unnamed documentary which will explore the root causes of the global economic meltdown and take a comical look at the corporate and political shenanigans that culminated in what Moore described as “the biggest robbery in the history of this country” – the massive transfer of U.S. taxpayer money to private financial institutions.

Personally, I thought this teaser was terrible.

Teaser trailer for ACCIDENTS HAPPEN

Jun 08 2009 Published by under Film

Here’s the teaser for Accidents Happen.

The film is a brash and moving comedy about family, fate and misfortune in American suburbia.  The manicured lawns of 1980’s New England imply an order that simply doesn’t exist for the Conway family, headed by razor-tongued Gloria.  Youngest son Billy has been a witness to a series of tragic accidents, including one that fractured his whole family.  Always the good boy, Billy takes up with the neighbourhood troublemaker in acts of delicious delinquency in a world already spinning out of control.  The ensuing collision of guilt, truth and self discovery may be just what his family needs to move on.

The film stars Geena Davis and is set to open later this year after having played at Tribeca.
