An amazing looking trailer for PERFECT SENSE

Jan 19 2011 Published by under Film

God I love this time of year when Sundance is starting up again and every day there’s either a new image, synopsis or trailer.

Today brings the fantastic looking drama, Perfect Sense.

Eva Green plays Susan, an epidemiologist recently out of a relationship gone sour; Ewan McGregor is Michael, the charismatic chef who sweeps Susan off her feet and shows her that not all guys are a-holes. Sounds swell, right? And it would be… except for one tiny problem: At the same time Susan and Michael are falling for each other, a global pandemic is threatening to change the face of humanity forever.

And Susan, in her job as an epidemiologist, is right at the center of it all. When a truck driver in Glasgow experiences a sudden inexplicable crying fit and subsequently loses his sense of smell, Susan learns that more than 100 other people across Europe have been stricken in similar fashion. As more and more people around the globe begin to suffer these strange symptoms that first attack their emotions and then their symptoms, Susan and Michael are forced to try and weather the storm and find out how the human race might cope with such a pandemic.

I’m not a fan of the voice-over used, but check out the trailer below.

New poster for Gregg Araki’s KABOOM

Jan 19 2011 Published by under Film

Gregg Araki wrote and directed Mysterious Skin which I thought was fantastic, so it goes without saying that I’m interested in his new film, Kaboom, which will be playing at Sundance in the next week or so.

Below is the new poster together with the trailer which came out a while back.

Sundance ANIMAL KINGDOM poster

Jan 29 2010 Published by under Film

Here’s the Sundance poster for Aussie crime flick Animal Kingdom.

Even though I’m Australian I don’t typically get excited about our own products, but Animal Kingdom certainly intrigues me.  Hopefully I’ll get a chance to see it soon.

First poster for JACK GOES BOATING

Jan 24 2010 Published by under Film

Here’s the first poster for Philip Seymour Hoffman’s directorial debut, Jack Goes Boating.

The film tells the story of a limo driver’s blind date that sparks a tale of love, betrayal, friendship, and grace centered around two working-class New York City couples.

Along with Hoffman the film also stars the outstanding Amy Ryan who at this point I’d watch in anything.

I believe the film is gonna play at Sundance so hopefully some reviews will start to show up in the next few days.
