Aside from the damn awful narration on the trailer, this one seems pretty decent. I’m not a fan of De Niro doing comedy, especially those Meet the… films, but I think he’d be good with understated comedy, and this is what comes across in the trailer for Everybody’s Fine. Add in the awesome Sam Rockwell and this becomes a film that I’d like to see.
Here’s the new poster for Kate Beckinsale’s upcoming crime/thriller Whiteout.
The film tells the story of U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) who tracks a killer in Antarctica, as the sun is about to set for six months.
It sounds kinda cool until you realise that Beckinsale has never made a good film. Sure The Aviator was good, but the greatness of that film rested on Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese, not on her relatively minor role. And don’t even get me started on the shitness of the Underworld flicks. Lycans? Why not just call them werewolves. That’s what they are.
Here’s the UK poster for Winged Creatures. The film tells the story of a group of strangers who form a unique relationship with each other after surviving a random shooting at a Los Angeles diner, and stars Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning, Embeth Davidtz, Jennifer Hudson, Forest Whitaker, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Guy Pearce and Jackie Earle Haley.
The film has played at a bunch of festivals since back in June 2008 and is set to open here in Australia in July. I’m not sure what the release date is for the US.
