Well this not what I expected at all. I’ve been looking forward to seeing something from Tina Fey and Steve Carell’s Date Night for a while now but I figured it’d just be a funny almost R rated comedy. The trailer makes it seem like a romcom combined with Mr and Mrs Smith. I’m still excited about it but in a whole different way.
I also loved the little bit of James Franco and Mila Kunis that was shown. God I love those two.
My two favourite comedic actresses, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, got together for lunch at Cafe Cluny in the West Village before Fey split off and headed to the set of Date Night.
These two really need to make another film together ‘cos I was really disappointed with Baby Mama . Although I might have been in a bad mood when I was watching it because I was in Orlando on holiday and got a cold after visiting Discovery Cove. I was stuck in bed for a couple of days and ended up ordering the flick in the room and had to watch it through shitty reception which kept distorting the image. Maybe I should give it another watch.
Here are some photos from the set of the Tina Fey and Steve Carell flick Date Night. Nothing special to write home about but I really like these two so something is better than nothing.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Ray Liotta, Mila Kunis and Mark Ruffalo are set to join Date Night.
Already cast are Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, Taraji P. Henson, Common, Leighton Meester, Kristen Wiig and Jimmi Simpson. The film is directed by Shawn Levy who also directed Night at the Museum and its upcoming sequel.
The story follows a couple (Fey and Carell) who find their routine date night becomes much more than just dinner and a movie.
Tina Fey and Steve Carell were enough to get me excited about this flick, but with the three additions to a very impressive cast, this film is now shooting up my list of most anticipated films. The film is set to open in April 2010.
As great as it was to get GROWN UPS in, these ones are better.
