365 Day Unseen Movie Marathon – Day 58 – RUBBER (2010)

Feb 27 2011 Published by under Film

Title: Rubber

Written and Directed by: Quentin Dupieux

Current Flickchart position:  #815 of 1372 overall.  My #58 film, of 70, from the year 2010.

What It’s About:
When Robert, an inanimate tire, discovers his destructive telepathic powers, he soon sets his sights on a desert town; in particular, a mysterious woman becomes his obsession.

General Comments:
To me Rubber is the ultimate indie art film.  It’s bizarrely original, nonsensical, weird, yet strangely interesting.  Not one single bit of it makes sense but I found myself captivated the whole time.  I really am at a loss for words.

Watch Rubber because it’s pretty much a bad to average film, that’s elevated to something more thanks to it’s sheer originality and inventiveness.  Just don’t expect any kind of explanation or motivation for anything that happens.

Rating:  5.5/10

Suicidegirls.com is awesome

I know this in no way has anything to do with TV or film but I don’t care.  I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to discover suicidegirls.com.

The site is heaven for guys like me who like naked girls with some tattoos.  As a warning, yeah they are for the most part naked, some just top only, but I really wouldn’t go so far as to call it a porn site.  They’re really just alternative pinups for our generation.

I recommend checking it out.  You can sign up for a $47.95 for the year and it works out to be a little under $4 per month.

And yeah, the banner pic is the cleanest one I could find in their free tour gallery.

Promo art for FRINGE season 2

Not long and the fall TV season starts up and I can’t wait.  One of the shows I’m most excited about returning is Fringe.

With that said, here’s a piece of promo art for the upcoming second season of the awesome sci-fi drama.  The second season premiere is scheduled for Thursday September 17th.  I don’t particularly like the move to Thursdays, especially because it goes up against CBS’s hits and NBC’s new comedy block, but I like that Fox has confidence in the show.
