This looks fucking awesome.  And it sounds like it has a killer soundtrack.

The film tells the story of a mine-worker named Power’s who’s love of drums and lack of musical skill has turned him into the ridiculed “air drummer” of his small town.   But when his union-leader father calls a strike at the mine, Power discovers an underground subculture of air-drummers who just might hold the key to changing the world.  Power’s journey across America brings him face-to-face with his town’s greatest enemy, and allows him to discover the beat within his own heart.

The synopsis doesn’t sound mindblowing, but the trailer makes this thing out to be a cross between Napoleon Dynamite, Zoolander and Almost Famous.  Or something like that anyway.  Whatever it is, it has Michael McKean and Jane Lynch in it, so it’s probably gonna be great due to that alone.

Adventures of Power is due to open on October 9th.  No date yet for poor old me here in Oz.
