Oh hell yes. One week to go until Avatar opens worldwide. I’m not seeing it opening day because I’m going with a friend the day after so he can fit it around work. I’m so excited to see it, primarily because it’s a James Cameron flick but also because it’ll be my first experience with any new kind of 3D. The last 3D films I remember seeing were a space documentary I saw at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida back in 2005 and Captain Eo at one of the Disney parks in Orlando back in about 1989. Needless to say, I expect to have my mind blown by this flick.

i bought my ticket for the first subtitled (they are going to dub it in portuguese for most of the 3D screens here) imax showing on the 18th. today, to my surprise, i discovered they were doing an advance screening on the 17th at 20:50 hours. guess what? bought another ticket. so i'll have two straight avatar days. and if my girlfriend decides to watch it on saturday… i'm there. i guess it'll be avatar weekend then. looking forward to your comments frantic. cheers.
There are a couple of advance screenings here on the 16th and then it opens properly on 17th. I wanna go see it as soon as possible but I'm accommodating my friend so we can both see it together. I'm avoiding all reviews/tweets about it until I see it. I don't want anything spoiled.
